What else you need

An AI key, for the AI tasks

Finding the key ideas in course material, finding them in a transcript when they are put in other words, and the other AI tasks use your own API key from OpenAI or Anthropic. You pay the provider for what you use, and the app shows the cost of each run. Without a key, you can still load a list of key ideas and find them by keyword.

ffmpeg, for recordings

The app uses ffmpeg to read recordings and draw their waveforms. It finds a copy already on your computer, or offers to download one for you.

Installing

macOS: open the .dmg and drag Traced Dialogic Assessment Tool to Applications.

Windows: run the installer. If SmartScreen says it "protected your PC", choose More info ▸ Run anyway — new apps are flagged until enough people have downloaded them.

Linux: make the AppImage executable (chmod +x) and run it, or install the package with your package manager.

Updating

Traced Dialogic Assessment Tool checks for new versions and tells you, or — on a Mac, and with the Windows installer — can install them for you. Choose in Preferences ▸ Updates.

Older versions are on the releases page.
