Trace the course's key ideas through an oral exam
AI-assisted analysis of oral-exam recordings and transcripts.
What it does
From the recording to a traced analysis
For examiners reviewing oral exams, and for researchers studying dialogic teaching and classroom talk.
Key ideas from the course
Add the readings and notes, as text or PDF. The AI picks out the concepts a student could be asked to explain, with definitions, aliases and a study summary.
Found in what was said
Keyword matching that needs no AI, AI matches that catch an idea explained in other words, and hybrid matches that rate each keyword hit. Every match says why.
The conversation, laid out
Speaking time, turns and words for each participant, every turn on a timeline, and who asks, who answers and how long the pauses are.
Conversation analysis
Jefferson notation found by rule: pauses, overlaps and latching, repair, prosody. And interactional themes found by AI, under labels you define.
Transcripts from anywhere
Text, SRT, WebVTT, DOTE, Dote-Whisper and Whisper JSON. Correct the transcript, keep it in sync with the recording, and see which words the recogniser was unsure of.
Your reading, kept
Highlight passages, write notes, tag them with key ideas, mark slides against the recording. One project file holds it all, with undo and crash recovery.
How it works
Three steps
Bring in the exam
Drop the transcript and the recording on the window, and name the speakers.
Add the course material
Generate its key ideas, then find them in the transcript: by keyword, with AI, or both.
Read it traced
Work through the exam in the Traced view, and save it all as one file you keep.
AI on your terms
Your key, your choice of provider
Pay only for what you run
The app is free. AI tasks use your own OpenAI or Anthropic key, at the provider's prices, and report what each run cost. Every AI task on the guide's demo exam came to under one cent.
Only what's needed is sent
Recordings never leave your computer. The course material and transcript go only to the provider you chose, and only when you run a task. Keys are encrypted by your operating system.
Nothing is paid for twice
Results are saved with the project, and the keyword matches and notation rules need no AI at all. See what is sent.
